Tasmanian Junior Rapid Championship

Our premier Rapid Chess Event for 2024, the Tasmanian Junior Rapid Championships!

Where: Sacred Heart College, 227 York Street, Launceston

When: Sunday 29th of September

Competition Divisions: 
• Under-18: Year of birth 2006 or after

• Under-16: Year of birth 2008 or after

• Under-14: Year of birth 2010 or after

• Under-12: Year of birth 2012 or after

• Under-10: Year of birth 2014 or after

• Under-8: Year of birth 2016 or after

 

Prizes will be for each best individual in all of U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 

***Note: Players can play up in divisions if they would like, but prior approval from organizers will need to be granted. 

As games will be rapid, no notation is required from players. 

Time Control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds per move. 

Schedule: 

Sunday the 29th of September:

Welcome and Registration: 9:30am

Round 1: 10:00am

Round 2: 10:45pm

Round 3: 11:30pm

Round 4: 12:15pm

Lunch Break

Round 5: 1:30pm

Round 6: 2:15pm

Round 7: 3:00pm

Prize giving to be held as close to 4:00pm as possible.
